Orienteering!

Yesterday afternoon the weather was deemed to be too windy for canoeing but not so for orienteering so that's what we decided (were told) to do! We broke up into small groups and searched for markers to decode a mystery code.
There was some intense studying of the maps to use as many clues as possible to determine where exactly we were and where we should be going - answer: lost and I'm not quite sure! IT didn't take long before we all got the hang of it though and we all managed to meet back at the starting point at the given time - well done Year 5!
As part of the evening's activity (the mysterious 'Eggbert challenge') pupils were asked to perform a song that they had composed. As you can see, they threw themselves right in!
An appearance of 'the running man' dance move....
As the behaviour and listening skills had been so good pupils were treated to a snack from the tuck shop and were allowed use of the pool table - subject to a successful room inspection of course! What a brilliant day it was and the children are all well rested after another good night's sleep. It looks less windy today, if not quite dry, so hopefully we can get out to do some water activities today. I will keep you posted.....
